Peach + Raspberry Frozé
Frozé? How 2016 of me, right? Guess what... I don't care. A frozen wine slushy transcends all trends and fads in my opinion. But seriously, what could be better on a hot day than not only a glass of wine, not a glass of chilled wine, a glass of frozen slushy wine. Nothing. I decided to add a little fruit into the mix, not just for flavor, but consistency, too. The frozen fruit helps the texture be a little creamer, rather than icy. I went with two of my absolute favorite fruits of Summer: peaches and raspberries which also pair well with the flavors of the rosé I used, but feel free to swap out for other Summer fruits. Strawberries, apricots, nectarines, or even plums would all be delicious additions.
So, even though the back-to-school section is back with a vengeance at Target (ok, I secretly love it) and the faint chatter of pumpkin spice lattes is in the air, Summer is not over yet! You hear me?! We still have a little time left. So make yourself this frozé and enjoy it, ok?
Raspberry Peach FrozÉ
serves 4
1 bottle (750 mL) rosé, chilled
1 c frozen peaches
1/2 c frozen raspberries
2 oz (1/4 c) St. Germaine (elderflower liquor)
1 T lemon juice
fresh peach slices, for garnish
In a blender, combine the rosé, peaches, raspberries, St. Germaine, and lemon juice. Blend until completely smooth. At this point, the consistency will still be a little loose. Transfer the mixture to a bowl or pitcher and freeze for about 30 minutes, until mixture has firmed up to a slurpie consistency. Serve in glasses and garnish with a peach slice.
